Life Skills Classes
Life Skills is the place to build the everyday behaviours that make living with your dog easier.
This program is appropriate for adolescent and adult dogs, as well as dogs who are ready to continue foundation work after puppy training.
Key Skills Covered:
- Leash Handling & Manners: Polite walking on leash without pulling.
- Real-World Focus: Attention, name responsiveness, and impulse control around distractions.
- Reliable Recalls: Teaching your dog to enthusiastically come when called.
- Settling & Self-Control: Mat work to help your dog relax when guests arrive or in busy settings.
- Polite Greetings & Targeting: Hand-targeting for focus, polite greetings, and household manners.
Training isn't about creating a robot. It's about giving your dog the skills they need to participate successfully in everyday life.
- Format: 6-Week Group Series (1 hour weekly at our Guelph training school).
- Class Size: Capped at 4–5 dogs to guarantee maximum individual attention.
