The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) emphasizes that proper socialization before 16 weeks is essential for preventing future fear, avoidance, and behaviour issues. We will guide you through these foundational weeks so you can raise a confident pup and build a lifelong partnership.
Puppy Training & Socialization Combo Program
Our specialized 6-week group puppy program is designed specifically for puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of age.
Classes provide a safe, controlled environment for hands-on learning and healthy socialization. You'll build foundational behaviours while receiving expert guidance on navigating everyday puppy challenges at home.
What you & your puppy will learn:
- Healthy Socialization: Positive, carefully managed exposure to a range of stimuli, experiences, people, and fellow puppies.
- Puppy Biting & Chewing: Practical strategies to manage nipping, mouthiness, and destructive chewing.
- Foundation cues including reliable recalls (coming when called), focus work, leash walking, and sit/down/stay.
- Self-Control & Relaxation: Settle skills that teach your puppy how to independently rest and take breaks.
- Body Language & Communication: Learn how to read your puppy's signals and understand their stress levels.
- Real-World Skills: Impulse control games (Leave-It / Drop-It) and comfortable body handling for vet and grooming visits.
For puppies under 16 weeks of age, as of their first class
- 1-hour group session weekly, for 6 consecutive weeks.
- Class sizes capped at 5-6 puppies to ensure maximum individual attention.
